DAY ONE CONTENT

Today, we’re setting the foundation for your online course by diving into two key elements: knowing your audience and honing your expertise. Think of this as choosing the perfect beans for your brew—it’s all about understanding who you’re serving and why they’ll love what you bring to the table.

If you spent any time with the reflection questions I sent you over the weekend, open those up, because we are launching from there into today’s focus.

What you’ll learn today:

☕ How to deeply understand your ideal audience so you can address their exact needs.

☕ Ways to align your expertise with what your audience craves, creating the perfect blend of knowledge and value.

Grab your favorite mug and get ready to connect with your audience like never before. Let’s get brewing!

DAY ONE TRAINING

💡

For today’s training, I wanted to highlight a part of The Expert Educator Membership called the resource hub. I am constantly on the hunt for guest coaches to come share their expertise with the membership. They teach on a variety of business related topics and skills, and these trainings have turned out to be SO VALUABLE.

➡️ Option #1: Watch the video in it’s entirety (35 minutes). This means today’s trainings and action steps will take you closer to an hour (ish). Melanie’s resources, including the workbook she references in the video, are all in the full training under the Resource Hub in the membership.

➡️ Option #2: For a short cut version, watch the following video segments (15 minutes):

  • 5:48 - 8:26 Identifying Your Ideal Client
  • 9:58 - 16:12 Figure Out What People Are Saying
  • 18:06 - 18:51 Melanie’s Four Step Process
  • 25:13 - 30:42 Competitor Research

Time to Take Action

Today, I want you to take some steps forward with market research. And let me just emphasize - don’t let market research intimidate or overwhelm you. It can be as simple as reflecting on the questions I have below and jotting down some notes.

Or, go check out Melanie’s full training in the resource hub and get her full workbook! (Even if you want to save it for later).

  1. Who is your ideal client? Demographics… What do they value?… What motivates them?… How they have tried to solve their problem before…? What struggles are they facing?… Where do they hang out online?… What are they craving…?
  2. Who can you reach out to for more official market research? (Think, past clients or other people in your niche.) Choose 3-4 questions from 11:05 of the video that you can ask them.
  3. How can you group your ideal client profiles? Oftentimes, you will have more than one ideal client, or subgroups within your ideal client profile. Identify those and get specific about what makes them different.
  4. Who are your competitors? What format / structure are they using (self paced, group program, etc.)?… What are they charging?… Who are they targeting?… What is their audience size?… What are they missing that you can include?… How is what you do unique?
