The second most common thing that I find causes people to feel like they are sort of wading through the content and failing to really articulate well is a lack of structure.
What may feel structured in your head may not be coming across for your audience. Having a good game plan for your training and a structure that keeps you on track and focused will leave you feeling much more articulate.
Remember:
- At the beginning of your training: State your goal or outcome for the training and give a summary of how you are going to get there.
- Throughout the training: Clearly chunk your training content. Follow speakers notes to make sure you aren’t missing any component or getting off track.
- At the end of the training: Review the goal or the outcome that you had for the training and give next steps.
